An Eclectic retreat residence

The goal of this high-end residential project was to redesign a Mediterranean revival retail space back into the original residential use. The family wished to keep the historical architecture throughout the home but reinterpret the interior to fit their everyday needs.
The concept of the home was inspired by the characteristics of a “staycation”. This will capture the essence of a relaxed coastal atmosphere that the family is used to within the landlocked city of Tallahassee. Their new home on Thomasville Rd. will celebrate their daily lives as if it were a vacation by blending the calm, and open environment of the beach with the bright, and exciting colors you find exploring a new destination.
This project had a real client in which we could use different tools to communicate our design with her including virtual video presentations. The renderings were left light and sketchy to allow the client to feel she could still make changes to the design after the presentation and we were continually creating quick sketches to present to her and our teachers throughout the process.
