VETERANS REHABILITATION HOME

The goal for this project was to design a rehabilitation home that had all the requirements of a hospital suite, but created a space that would help transition the veterans into their next home.
The concept for this design was inspired by a welcoming embrace. It is that moment when the returning soldier sees their loved one for the first time or the moment they get to hold their child again; It's a feeling of comfort and relief.
Universal design was a major emphasis throughout this space as well as commercial grade A finishes. All areas were designed specifically for any injuries or disabilities that a veteran may have returning home. Including wheelchair or post traumatic stress disorder. Open site lines and an indoor garden allows the veterans to feel safe while healing with nature.
